J. V. Vilanilam: A writer in English and Malayalam has had a
long teaching, administrative and research career spanning
half a century. Starting as a lecturer in the Department of
Journalism in the University of Kerala, Vilanilam rose to the
position of Vice-chancellor of the same University after
teaching for many years both in India and the U.S.A. He
was awarded Professor Emeritus in Communication by the
University Grants Commission (UGC). He was also a Peer
Team Member of National Assessment and Accreditation
Council (NAAC), an autonomous wing of the UGC. He has
authored 14 books in English, 11 books in Malayalam besides
publishing several articles both in Malayalam and English.
Sunny Luke: He is a naturalized US citizen and has worked
as a medical scientist for 25 years with various medical
institutions in New York. He also served as an adjunct
graduate professor of Medical Biotechnology at Adelphi
University, New York. Being one of the founders of IISAC, he
was responsible for developing the "Semester India Program"
for US students with Pondicherry University in South India.
He has also developed two successful faculty-led short term
study programs for US Universities in Kerala- Tropical
Biodiversity and Natural Resources Management. Being a life
long lover of Kerala, he promotes US students to visit many
corners of Kerala as a part of their undergraduate education.
However, he is well known for his medical research in Human
Genetics, Tissue Engineering and Molecular Pathology. To his
credit, he has more than 80 publications in international
scientific journals of repute
Antony Palackal: Teaches in the Post Graduate Department
of Sociology in Loyola College of Social Sciences, Trivandrum,
Kerala, India. He is the India Coordinator of the
World Science Project that studies social networks,
collaboration and productivity among scientists in the
developing countries in the wake of ICTs. Indian Council of
Social Science Research (ICSSR) has awarded him Senior
Research Fellowship for pursuing research on land issues in
Kerala. He has published seven books and
several research and popular articles. His areas of
specialisation include: Culture, Gender Studies, Sociology of
Science and Development, New Social Movements.
